U12-U13: Soccer Awareness

Advanced Soccer Training Program for Young Players

At this stage of development, players have generally mastered basic skills and are ready to explore the more complex aspects of soccer. This program focuses on advanced elements such as:

  • Game Awareness: Understanding the flow of the game and anticipating plays.
  • Field Positioning: Learning proper placement and positioning for various scenarios.
  • Decision-Making: Navigating tight spaces and making effective split-second choices.
  • Team Communication: Coordinating with teammates to enhance teamwork and cohesion.

As players transition to larger fields with more teammates, it becomes crucial to understand positioning and the specific roles of each position. A competitive environment is essential to foster growth and help young athletes apply their training in real-game situations.

At Coquitlam FC, our coaches encourage players to be brave and implement what they’ve learned in practice into games. This approach builds confidence, creativity, and resilience on the field.
